StiknSense Temperature Logger

One Way · disposable cold-chain logger — 60,000 readings, 350 m long-range BLE

A low-cost, lightweight disposable BLE 5.0 temperature logger that captures temperature data during storage and the entire transport leg, while broadcasting real-time location and temperature to nearby phones, trackers and gateways. Stores up to 60,000 sensor readings on board and exports historical data and analysis reports in Excel via the configuration app. Ideal for pharmaceutical cold chain, food shipments and high-value temperature-sensitive logistics.

Why disposable temperature logging matters

One logger per shipment. One audit trail per leg.

60,000 readings on board

The SNS-S05T captures temperature throughout storage and the entire transport leg, even with no infrastructure nearby. Data syncs back via any passing phone, tracker or gateway.

Disposable economics

Low-cost, lightweight, customisable. Target sub-dollar volume pricing makes per-shipment temperature monitoring financially viable for the first time.

No external infrastructure

Devices broadcast over BLE 5.0 — 350 m long-range. Phones and gateways already in the workflow forward data to SAVP (StiknTrak Asset Visualisation Platform) — no SIMs, no GPS, no Wi-Fi.

Deployment

Three ways to deploy a StiknSense

StiknSense was designed to drop into existing handling workflows without retraining staff or modifying packaging. Pick the method that fits the asset, the lane and the people who will handle it.

Method 01

Inside the package

Drop a single StiknSense unit inside a carton, tote, ULD (Unit Load Device) or returnable container. The device records temperature and humidity from the moment it's sealed and broadcasts every reading over BLE 5.0. Phones, trackers and gateways anywhere in the lane forward the data to SAVP — no infrastructure required at origin or destination.

  • +  Best for sealed cartons & totes
  • +  No external mount required
  • +  True in-box conditions
Method 02

Adhered to the outside

Stick a StiknSense to the outside of a container, crate or pallet using its peel-and-stick adhesive backing. Ideal where the asset can't be opened in transit, or where a single device needs to track ambient conditions across an entire load. Same data, same SAVP visualisation — just a different mounting surface.

  • +  Best for sealed or reusable containers
  • +  No tools, no integration
  • +  Reads ambient lane conditions
Method 03 · Recommended

A5–A7 instruction card

Attach the StiknSense to a printed A5 or A7 card and place the assembly inside a box of pharmaceuticals, fresh produce or other temperature-critical goods. The card carries clear handling instructions, your branding, and a return path — turning a sensor into a guided, end-to-end deployment.

Temperature and humidity are recorded continuously and transmitted in near real time to the SAVP platform for visualisation, alerting and action when thresholds are breached.

  • 01  Clear instructions for the receiver
  • 02  Customer branding & chain-of-custody
  • 03  Return path printed on the card
  • 04  Live telemetry to SAVP for alerting
Method 03 · End-to-end

From dispatch to receipt — the full journey, plus a small-parcel option

A printed Mediport-branded card carries the StiknSense, your branding and clear handling instructions. The sender starts the recording and sticks the QR on the outside of the box; the receiver stops the recording and reads the LED on arrival. Card and device are returned for re-use on the next shipment.

Meet the StiknSense

The compact orange device on the front of the card captures temperature and humidity. The button starts and stops recording; the LED on top shows the current status at a glance.

Turn the card over

The back carries clear instructions for sender and receiver — how to operate the device and how to interpret each LED colour. Everything you need to use StiknSense confidently is right there on the card.

Activate & peel the QR

The sender presses the button to activate the StiknSense — recording starts immediately. Then lift the red corner tab and peel the QR sticker off the front of the card.

Stick QR on the box

Apply the QR sticker to the outside of the carton. Anyone can scan it with a web app to pull every reading sent to SAVP — no need to open the box to know what's happening inside.

Long-press to stop

On receipt, the receiver opens the carton and long-presses the button on the StiknSense to stop recording. The journey log is now closed.

Read the LED outcome

Red — a temperature excursion occurred during shipping; follow the remedial action printed on the back of the card. Green — everything stayed within specification; set the device aside, ready for return to the supplier.

Return to supplier

Slide the StiknSense card into a padded mailer and send it back to the supplier — typically done in bulk, with cards collected from multiple shipments and returned together for re-use.

Every method feeds the same backbone: continuous T&H telemetry into SAVP, where dashboards, alerts and exception workflows turn raw readings into action.
