Made for the produce journey

A small label.
More journeys made visible.

Temperature exposure and delays can affect quality, shelf life and commercial value. SNS-ONiO is designed to make monitoring practical across packing sheds, carriers, distributors and receiving sites.

One journey. No returns.

The single-use label travels with the produce. No device recovery, recharging or return programme to organise.

History stays with the label.

Temperature readings are stored locally between collection opportunities. Non-volatile memory retains recorded data when power is unavailable.

Designed for wider use.

Ultra-low-power electronics and biofuel-cell power help minimise hardware and deployment costs for carton and shipment monitoring.

The technology behind SNS-ONiO

Low-power electronics.
Biofuel energy.
Connected visibility.

ONiO, BeFC and Ambient IoT bring together processing, power and shipment intelligence within a compact adhesive label.

The bio-based power source offers an alternative to conventional battery-powered trackers. The environmental performance of the complete label depends on its materials and end-of-life handling.

Processing and sensing

ONiO’s ultra-low-power system-on-chip combines processing with integrated temperature sensing, reducing component count, cost and power consumption.

Thin biofuel-cell power

BeFC’s technology uses enzymes to convert chemical energy from bio-based fuel into electrical power. A two-cell power source supports the single-use label.

Firmware and visibility

Ambient IoT manages temperature recording, local storage and Hybrid BLE communications. SAVP brings temperature history and available location observations together.

Label construction

Compact by design.

Simple deployment

Peel. Attach. Monitor.

  1. Activate

Lift the marked corner and completely remove the backing to activate the label.

  2. Attach

Press firmly onto clean, dry carton packaging. Keep the front sensor area and QR code unobstructed.

  3. Monitor

The label records temperature locally throughout the journey.

Hybrid BLE communications

Scan the label.
See the shipment history.

Scan the QR code with an iPhone or Android phone to open the shipment record without downloading an application. Review recorded temperature readings, available location history and temperature exceptions.

  1. Record
  2. Discover
  3. Collect
  4. Synchronise
  5. View history

QR opens the record.

Use the label’s QR code to access shipment information at receiving, handover or inspection.

BLE collects the readings.

Hybrid BLE combines low-power discovery with authenticated collection of readings stored on the label. Those collection opportunities keep the shipment record updated.
